A night out for parents, a fun time for kids and a fundraiser to benefit research into a rare childhood disease is combined into one event
TONIGHT: Kids Night Out, sponsored by the Visser Family YMCA in Grandville.
The event benefits the A-T Children’s Project, which supports research into ataxia-telangiectasia, a lethal genetic disease that causes loss of muscle control, immune system problems and a high rate of cancer.
Kids Night Out, for children in fourth- through eighth-grades, is 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the Visser Family YMCA, 3540 Fairlanes Ave., in Grandville. The cost is $15 per child at the door.
Activities include a bounce house, a 60-foot inflatable obstacle course and a Zumba class. Kids will be served pizza and will have access to the YMCA gyms, pool and video games. Grand Rapids Griffins mascot, Griff, and West Michigan Whitecaps mascot, Crash, will be special guests.
